Conan for ImagineFX issue 61by ~livingrope

Digital Art / Paintings & Airbrushing / Fantasy

I did a video tutorial in the latest issue 61 of ImagineFX. They asked me to paint a Conan piece, and it was also a nice occasion to pay my tribute to Frank Frazetta for all the inspiration his art gave me all along my journey as an artist.
This is the first video documented painting that I push to the finish. There you can see my technique from the very first rough to the very end.

The first issue of IMAGINE FX, entitled FANTASY ART here in ROmania has this article. I am currently trying to use black and white and colrs in overlay, like you explained in the tutorial.

Liking this. Been looking for Conan art here on da and have found surprisingly little that captures my perception of the iconic Cimmerian. I see the Frazetta influence without it being a copycat piece. Excellent work!
